Alone we are strong, together we are stronger
This is so accurate for the Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore. Several people had a role in creating this building and the result is beautiful.

This Italian Gothic building is dedicated to ‘Santa Maria del Fiore’, which is why they call it the Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore. Arnolfo di Cambio designed the church, the dome was added later and was designed by Filippo Brunelleschi. It was finished around 1367 and can you believe that in that year it was already completely covered by colored marble, except for the façade (the front of the Cathedral) which remained unfinished. The façade was completed only in the 19th century. So, it took some time and several designers to create this masterpiece, but the result is outstanding.

Another masterpiece that you can find in Florence is the David of Michelangelo. David is a world-famous Renaissance statue. This masterpiece was created between 1501 and 1504. It’s a marble statue and it’s made by the famous Italian artist Michelangelo Buonarroti. The statue is 5.17 meters and it’s the Biblical hero David. If you’re interested in seeing the statue, you can visit La galleria dell’accademia.
