Singapore has impressive buildings and feels so surreal. Below there are some places you should visit when you are in Singapore. It’s recommended to stay a few days in this city state if you wish to see all the highlights.

The Jewel Changi Airport
Singapore is known for its famous airport where there is a lot to do. You can watch a movie if you are too early or play some arcade games. You can go around and take the sky train between terminals.

The most famous part is the Jewel where the famous waterfall is, a mall and a lot more. It’s free to visit. You should take the sky train from Terminal 2 to Terminal 3 because this sky train passes by the waterfall.
Tip: every evening there is a light and sound show at the waterfall.
Chinatown Singapore and Maxwell Food Center
The best thing you can do is walk around in Chinatown. You should visit the Buddha Tooth Relic Temple, the street market, the Sri Mariamman Temple and the Jamae Mosque because it’s beautiful. While strolling around this area you’ll see many stunning paintings on the walls. Explore the area and get lost.


Maxwell Food Center was an initiative after World War II to start a chain of family restaurants. They sold cheap meals to the poor and the displaced. This was one of those places where meals were sold at 8 cents each. Later this was turned into a food center and now it’s famous for the traditional Chinese food stalls. You should go to this food center and enjoy the food.
Marina Bay Waterfront Promenade
Walk all around the Marina Bay Waterfront promenade to have some amazing views. This connects Marina center and the Bayfront area.

Merlion fountain
This fountain is the mascot of Singapore. The fountain has a head of a lion and the body of a fish which is based on a myth. It symbolizes that Singapore was originally a fishing village known as Temasek, which means lake in Malay. If you want to learn more about the story behind this fountain, go to this website.
Art science Museum
This museum offers a unique experience where art, technology, science and culture come together. It’s perfect for some inspiration and to discover a different kind of museum. Opening hours are daily from 10am to 7pm. More information or ticket prices you’ll find on their website.
Marina Bay Sands and Mall
This is a big building that immediately stands out. You can walk through it and buy a ticket to go to the top. The place is called Marina Bay Sands Skypark Observation Deck and from here you have the most amazing view over the Gardens by the Bay and the rest of Singapore.

Tip: the Skypark Observation Deck from Marina Bay Sands is the place to be for the best view over Singapore.

There are many malls in Singapore, but the Marina Bay Mall really stands out. It has fancy clothing brands, a casino, water with a boat and much more. Go for high tea at TWG Tea Garden.
Gardens by the Bay
Walking around this place is the best thing you can do. Start at the Supertree Grove which is impressive. You can just walk around for hours and it’s free to walk around. If you want to visit the skywalk or the dome, then you need to pay. The skywalk is impressive, and you should go at opening hours to avoid the crowd.




Another place you should visit is the Cloud Forest. Every hour they make the whole dome foggy which is an amazing experience. You pay an entrance fee and it’s better to order your ticket online because it’s cheaper and you can skip the line.


Tip: order tickets online. There is an app called Klook where you can get the tickets cheaper.
In the cloudy forest there is also a lot of information so, it’s not only for the beauty you need to go but it’s a good place to learn as well.
Gardens by the Bay is using the knowledge of the earth’s natural cycles to reduce the environmental footprints.

The Garden by the Bay Flower Dome is also a place you should visit. This place is stunning. After visiting the dome, you can go to Satay by the Bay to have some food.
Watch night shows
Every night there is a light and water show near the Marina Bay Sands. The show is for free and it’s amazing. There are two to three shows in the evening. At 8pm, 9pm and on Friday and Saturday even at 10pm.
Besides the light and water show near the Marina Bay Sands, there is also every evening a light show at the Supertree Grove which is outstanding. It’s every night at 7:45pm and 8:45pm.


Emerald Hill and Orchard Road
On Emerald Hill Road you will see well preserved Chinese baroque buildings with a lot of history. It’s close to the Orchard Road which is Singapore’s retail heart. There are so many malls in this street and most of the time all the malls relate to each other.
Clarke Quay
It’s a historical place with warehouses on the riverside. It used to be the centers of trade. Now it’s one of the best places to go if you want to discover the nightlife in Singapore.
Sentosa Singapore
There are many attractions to do on the island Sentosa. There are beaches, adventures, museums and much more. It’s fun for the whole family. You can find all the information on their website.
Singapore Botanic Gardens and Bukit Timah Nature Reserve
If you love botanical gardens, you should visit the botanic garden of Singapore. The entrance is free of charge, but you pay a fee when you want to enter greenhouses. Another place where you can enjoy some nature is at the Bukit Timah Nature Reserve. You’ll find all the information on their website.
