Croatia is an amazing place to visit and there is a lot to do, one of those things is kayaking. Kayaking in Pula is one of the highlights you must do in Croatia. You kayak on the sea and have the most beautiful views over the cliffs of Pula.

In this blog the following topics will be discussed:

There are many adventures you can do in Croatia like go from island to island by boat, go kayaking, hiking, diving, and go climbing. Kayaking in Croatia

This blog will be specifically about kayaking in Pula on the Adriatic Sea but there are many other places where you can go kayaking. You can go kayaking at some amazing places in Croatia like in Karlovac, Zrmanja and Krupa rivers, Vis, Skradin and Sibenik, Elaphite islands, and Dubrovnik.

If you want, you can easily go on multiple day kayak tours. More information you can find on this website.

There are many tours available in Croatia so make sure you check the reviews of the companies, so you have a good experience. I would suggest booking a tour with a guide if you’re not used to go kayaking and you don’t feel safe going on your own.

Kayaking in Pula

Kayaking in Pula is an adventure that you can easily do by yourself or with a guide if you don’t feel safe going on your own. From Pula you kayak on the Adriatic Sea so make sure you go kayaking when the weather is good, and the sea is calm otherwise it can be dangerous.

There are many places where you can rent a kayak or book a tour. A good Kayak company is Gole Sport Kayak Tours Pula. You can book a tour or just rent the kayak.

You can rent the kayak for 1 or 2 hours but it’s best to rent the kayak for 5 hours as it takes some time before you reach the beautiful caves. The company gives an explanation about how to get to the caves.

To get to the caves you kayak for around 45 minutes, then you can go into the cave. Afterwards you can kayak a bit further or chill near the cave. You’ll see many people snorkeling and cliff jumping in this area. It’s nice to take a rest at this spot and fully enjoy the beauty of this place. You can snorkel if you bring your snorkel gear, and you can jump of some cliffs but be careful.

Make sure you head back in time because it’s still another 45 minutes kayaking back.

Tip: a good place to eat after kayaking is at Tivoli.

What to bring on your kayak trip?

Kayaking on the Adriatic Sea is amazing but you need to bring the right equipment so you can fully enjoy it. The company gives a waterproof barrel where you can put in your belongings. I would recommend you to bring the following items:

  • Waterproof flashlight (or headlight) so you can see when you enter the cave. Normally the company gives it, but they didn’t have any left because the tours were on the go.
  • Whistle for safety
  • Waterproof bag for your cell phone
  • Water shoes because the rocks hurt
  • Wear your swimwear and bring towels
  • Snorkel gear
  • Sun protection: sunscreen, a hat
  • Water and snacks
  • GoPro if you have one

Have the best time discovering the cave and enjoy the views from the Adriatic Sea.
