Apartheid museum
This museum illustrates the rise and the fall of the apartheid. The museum opened in 2001 and you will learn everything that you need to know about the apartheid. You must visit this museum when you are in Johannesburg.

View on the Constitution Hill
Here you will see an Old Fort Prison complex. On this hill 156 people were arrested and held at the prison complex. Nelson Mandela and Oliver Tambo were two of those people. The Constitution Hill is the seat of the Constitutional Court.
Gold Reef City Theme Park
The largest theme park of its kind in South Africa. There are many rides for daredevils, families and even kids. It’s perfect for people who love theme parks because there is much to do. More you can read on their website.
Maboneng Precinct
This is an urban neighborhood with many creative vibes, nice coffee shops, clothing boutiques, art galleries and much more. It’s perfect to stroll around this area.
Soweto and Mandela’s House
Soweto is a township in Johannesburg. This area borders the city’s mining belt in the south. Soweto became the center of political campaigns aimed to overthrow the apartheid state in 1950s. It was the location where 3,000 people came together to adapt the Freedom Charter in 1955.

Must visits in this area are Vilakazi Street because here were housed two Nobel Peace Prize winners and Mandela’s House. Besides that, I suggest you walk around and wander off.
Walter Sisulu National Botanical Gardens

Wandering in Pretoria

When you visit South Africa, you must try to spot some wildlife. Kruger National Park is a must do in South Africa, but it is still some hours away from Johannesburg.
